About Me
I am a Brooklyn Born NuyoRican currently residing in Florida. I was raised during the Peak of Hip-hop and RnB music. I listened to legend such as Big Pun, 2Pac, R.Kelly,Joe,Mario, Biggie and more. As I got older my love for music continued to grow. However, the music itself in my opinion began to lose its power, new artists were lowering the value of my beloved genres of music. So I made it my goal to let my voice be heard to the masses, so that everyone could vibe to the golden age of music with me. My name is Remy and I am here to bring back that feeling you'd get when you heard a song come on during a block party, house party, clubbing night,or on the radio. Everyone bring out your BoomBoxes because we about to PARTY!!!!

Old Question... New Answer
Posted on 13 Apr 2012
4/13/12.... "Hip Hop is dead"..."Rap Sucks"... Just a few quotes used to describe what Rap music has become in the eyes of many these days. The usual question asked in relation to these statements is "Where has real rap gone?" I think i've found a new answer to that old question. I recently listened to Nicki Minajs' new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, and I would like to be one of the many to express my feelings about Ms. Minajs' music. Personally... it isn't good. Her album to me was just a medley of songs with no substance and lackluster lyrics. However, listening to the album made me realize something... it made me realize where old school Hip Hop went... you see, Hip Hop didn't just disappear.... no.... it evolved. You see, music is a product of the generation in which it's made. Way back when, men like Frank Sinatra ruled the airwaves and hearts of many with smooth story telling tunes. Elvis, Guns n Roses, U2... all greats, all involved in the evolution of music. Rock wasnt always Rock... it wasnt always about heavy base, wild hair and the whole nine... Rock was Elvis, a guy with great hair and slick moves. Today... Rock is about young emo kids talking about angst and other social topics, Rock isn't hardcore anymore... its soft. Evolution. So i have discovered that over time, the Hip Hop fan has succumb to the "Be Cool" philosphy. Where wearing your jeans below your knees is considered "Hip" rather than viewed as disgusting. Where "Gangsta" guys wearing jeans so tight that even they can barely walk right is actually acceptable, rather than in the 80s and 90s where baggy jeans were king. Evolution. I think the Hip Hop fan base has become ignorant, and therefore ignorant rap music now reigns supreme. Where a song as retarded as thicker than a snicker can become a success... or more recent... Stupid Hoe by Ms. Minaj. Songs considered "hits". Real Hip Hop has simply relinquished its turn on the evolution scale. Maybe one day, when the high school drop out rate lowers, and the teenage pregnancy rate does the same, will intelligence make its way back into the Hip Hop community... until then... Rappers that would've never seen the light of day back then (Gucci/Soulja Boy/Minaj and more) will make tons of money off of the fans that are too worried about being "cool" thus being like everyone else... rather than being different.
